The Big Sur Coast is the home to part of the California Condor population. They range between the Pinnacles National Monument inland and the Coast. They are an endangered species that are slowly being restored to the Coastal habitat. The are scavenger carnivores with a wingspan of nearly 10 feet. They are fascinating and amazing to watch in flight.

There is an excellent mobile device app (smart phone) that lets one enter the condor tag color and number information into the app, and it gives the individual condor’s name and pertinent information. This is available at the website condorspotter.com. There are instructions directing to the free downloadable app on the website.
